Joshua is a Partner at Abe & Asotie LP and the head of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice, which covers Litigation, Arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is known for his ability to distil complex legal issues into clear, practical strategies and for developing tailored solutions that meet clients’ commercial objectives.

Joshua has extensive experience in litigation, arbitration, and advisory work, representing both local and international clients before superior courts in Nigeria and arbitral tribunals. His practice cuts across banking and finance, intellectual property, oil & gas, labour law, environmental law, aviation, tax, and insolvency. He has successfully represented high-ranking multinationals, international corporations, and financial institutions in high-value and specialized disputes.

In the banking and finance sector, Joshua has advised and represented several leading commercial banks in Nigeria at both trial and appellate levels on a wide range of disputes. Notably, he represented two major commercial banks in matters involving the Special Presidential Investigation Panel (SPIP) and its powers over financial institutions. He has also trained legal officers of commercial banks on topics relevant to their operations, including “Common Mistakes Leading to Disputes in Loan Agreements.” His deep understanding of the commercial realities of the financial sector makes him highly effective in managing legal risks and disputes for banking clients.
