The Firm’s Partners have extensive experience in maritime law practice and have:
- Represented several vessels and crew members including A Vessel and its crew members in actions instituted at the Federal High Court and appellate Courts in Nigeria at the instance of the Federal Government of Nigeria;
- Represented an Engineering and Construction company in an action filed against an insurance company and logistics company;
- Advised a local financial institution regarding its financing of the acquisition of two motor vessels by its customer and the creation of security interest over both vessels;
- Drafted and negotiated a vessel mortgage deed on behalf of a financial institution and registered same with the Ship Registry of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency;
- Advised a South Korean marine transportation company regarding the regulation of cabotage activities in Nigeria;
- Advised an Indigenous oil servicing company regarding registration as a shipping company, flagging and registration of a vessel in Nigeria, bareboat charter and wholly owned vessel registration, and registration of mortgages in Nigeria;
- Advised a marine transport company regarding the registration and flagging of a vessel at St. Kitts and Nevis and the creation of security interest over the vessel.
