Theokalus is the Managing Partner of Abe & Asotie LP and heads the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Practice. With over fifteen (15) years of diverse legal experience, he has built a strong reputation for advising clients across multiple industries, with core expertise in Financial Services, Corporate Finance, International Trade, Commercial Transactions, and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT). He also has significant experience in Real Estate, Mining, and Healthcare.

Before co-founding Abe & Asotie LP, Theokalus practiced for more than half a decade as a corporate and commercial lawyer at ǼLEX and later worked in the Legal Departments of Diamond Bank, Access Bank, and Rand Merchant Bank. He went on to become a Partner at CM Advocates Nigeria, where he advised on major finance and commercial transactions. His direct involvement in the banking industry and regular interaction with regulators give him a deep understanding of financial instruments and products - including derivatives, structured products, securities, and syndicated loans - as well as the evolving regulatory framework governing the sector.

He has participated in and advised on numerous finance transactions, including bilateral and syndicated loan arrangements, debt and equity capital market transactions, and corporate restructurings. He is highly regarded for his ability to combine strategic insight with practical legal advice, offering clients innovative solutions that balance compliance with commercial objectives. His clientele ranges from multinational corporations and financial institutions to private companies, partnerships, and not-for-profit organizations.

Theokalus holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2011 after attending the Nigerian Law School, where he received the Sir Darnley Alexander Prize in Property Law and the Sir Lionel Brett Prize in Criminal Litigation. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Columbia Law School, New York, with a specialization in Global Business Law.
